MAKEUP TIPS BY ELAINE SHOBANJO

People have asked me over the last week how I put this look together.

In particular, they wanted to know how I emphasised my cheek bones and what lip gloss I wore.

Indeed I'm very flattered and have decided to share some tips with you ladies. So, here we go!

Tips & Tricks..
Bring out your favourite lip glosses & MIX colours together.

Most people mix eye shadow colours and create smoky eyes or fabulous colourful eyes. But do you remember to mix your bronzers, blushers or lip glosses.

In this picture, I'd had a red lip earlier. I cleaned it off and surely it left my lips slightly stained. I put on Revlon's Super Lustrous lip gloss with SPF 15 in shade 150 and viola!

The amazing thing is that this lip gloss is actually very nude (almost beige). Thus, the pinkish shade you see in the photo is as a result of my stained lip.

I had just reapplied my gloss seconds before I took this photo and if I'm honest, it's a tad bit too glossy for me. So I dabbed some off and kept it looking like this.

Now let's get your cheeks chiselled! It’s easy - apply your favourite blusher to your cheek bones. Next, use a gold shimmering highlighter/bronzer to highlight the area just above your cheek bones. Blend together and you're good to go!

Remember that a little goes a long way so easy on the quantity you use!

DO try this at home ladies and send me pictures of you if you wish! If you're the daring type, try mixing eye shadow pigments with your lip gloss to create stunning colours!

TO TELL OR NOT TO TELL

ELAINE IN THE FAB HOUSE!

Acting Beauty Editor, Elaine Shobanjo, touches on one you may relate to...

We've all heard it before, girl fights her true girlfriend over a man and in the end, loses a good friend and keeps a...err...not so good man.

This maybe a controversial topic but its fresh on my mind for a reason. I'm not here to bash any men (or women) or say what's right or wrong. Just having a lil' lighthearted chat with my amazing FAB readers :)

Here goes....

So last Wednesday, I was watching JERSEY SHORE on MTV. Yes I watch a bit of tv...so what?!

Just a little history to help you understand where I'm going with this. Sammi (girl) and Ronnie (boy) have been dating for a while now (spanning over 2summers).

At 1st it was all good but things got sour and Ronnie messed around.

Snooki and J-Woww (these names!! Jeez! Anyhoo, these are 2 girls) had been close to Sammi and felt guilty knowing Ronnie was messing around behind her back. So, they wrote an anonymous note to her, spilled the beans in it, Sammy found it, sh*t hit the fan, the truth about the 'authors' came out and you guessed it!!! Sammi ditched her 'loyal' friends for her man.

This got me thinking. Should one tell his/her friend the truth about their partner (if they have seen some wrong doing 1st hand) or should this 'witness' just keep shut??! Will that be betraying?

Most times, the 'good' friend who thinks he/she is doing his/her friend a favour by telling on the deceitful partner, gets black listed!

Why is that? If it were you, will you tell? And will you want to be told?
We want to hear from you....

TO MOVE IN OR NOT TO MOVE IN...

Acting Beauty Editor, Elaine Shobanjo, touches on one that many may relate to.

All week, I had juggled all sorts of possible things to blog about. I knew my time was ticking and my contribution needed to be ready to go live 1st thing Monday morning. By last Wednesday, I was back on 'relationships', having been on 'relationships' on Monday, and 'make up' on Tuesday.

I sat in front of my laptop on Wednesday, working on all sorts of tasks at once, while simultaneously wondering at the back of my mind, what storm I was going to cook up for dinner. I couldn't wait to just sleep (Wow! I respect all working mothers).

You'd think there'll be no room in my brain for any other thoughts, but no! I recalled all sorts of conversations my friends and I had had about dating, men, relationships...you get my drift. It was at this point I knew I was definitely going to blog about relationships.

If my friends are reading this, their hearts must be pounding! ‘What the hell is Elaine about to reveal?” I have amazing friends and what's said in Busaba/Ping Pong, stays in Busaba/Ping Pong. (If you haven't eaten in any of these restaurants in London, you've gotta try them! Yumm!)

My thoughts led me to one fine day, when a bunch of ladies (myself included) gathered for lunch and yummy cocktails and got talking as expected. We touched on all sorts of topics before we hit the issue of guys. I mentioned that I had seen an episode of the US show Married to Rock, where Aj decided to move out of the house she and her boyfriend of 3 years, Billy Duff shared.

Most of the other rock stars in their crew had made wives out of their girlfriends, but Billy seemed unwilling to take that leap. Aj wanted more and had even contemplated proposing to him prior to her moving out (Yes, she bought a ring!).

So our lunch topic shifted to whether or not it was wise to move in with your 'boyfriend' before marriage? Are you shooting yourself in the foot? What if he gets so comfortable with you being 'like' his wife, to the point where he feels he doesn't need to actually pop the question and make it official?

What happens when you've been with a guy for so long and he is of the 'marrying age', well settled in life, but doesn't want to commit further? Do guys hide behind this matter of needing to be millionaires before they can make the commitment to become husbands?

What do you do when your man wants the best of both worlds - a good girl as his woman but still wants to live the life of a bachelor? Leave him and hope for the best? Or pressure him into marrying you and then suffer the consequences later?

I don't know. Men have said that once they meet a woman, they can tell if she's got the potential to be The One. Should there be a maximum on how long it should take to actually get there?

Why should a woman have to live her life thinking of how to mould herself into the ‘marrying type’? Or, do we as women sometimes get trapped in our 'when is he going to take that leap?’ thought process and unconsciously end up breaking up a good thing?

As they say, if it's meant to be...

BRINGING BEAUTY TO FAB: ACTING BEAUTY EDITOR ELAINE SHOBANJO

Name: Elaine Shobanjo

Age: Hmmm, we'll come back to that. I love my age, but will have to keep you guessing ;)

Born and bred in: Born in Lagos, raised in Lagos & London.

Role at FAB: Acting Beauty Editor. Bringing everything 'beauty' right to you! Let's glam up, people!

FAB part of your job: Seeing the finished products of weeks of hard work!

Least liked but still FAB part of your job: Waiting to get sent photos that accompany articles.

Aspirations/goals: To grow my businesses to heights never imagined. That includes my role at FAB, and my make up business (www.shomya.com).

Inspirations: Too long to list here. I typically admire very hard working people who possess integrity, manners and a no-room-for-failure attitude. Those who get to the top with no integrity or manners do absolutely nothing for me!

Hero/Heroine: The Mandelas of this world.

FAB motto/saying: Drink triple, see double, act single!

KIDDINGGGGGG! Saw that on my brother-in-law's t-shirt and it cracked me up!

DO NOT follow this motto, people!

Best piece of advice you can offer: Life isn't a race. The journey also matters. It’s not who gets there first, but how we get there.

Your kind of music: I love me some dancehall and some 90s/early 2000s R&B/Hip Hop. My girlfriends always tease me about my love for the oldies, but who cares? You can't deny that hearing something off Joe's All that I am album or Kevin Lyttle's "Turn me on" or Rupee's "Tempted to Touch" isn't exciting ;) That's not to say I don't like the more recent R&B we've heard. I can't get enough of Rihanna's "What's my Name".

Your kind of book: I enjoy reading books on relationships. My cousin gave me a book written by her Pastor Sola Fola-Alade, titled The little things that can make a big difference in your marriage; was an excellent read.

Dream destination: Is it still a dream if I've been there already? As long as there's a beach and some sort of fun activities, I'm there.

Your style in a nutshell: Whatever's comfortable and accentuates my curves has got my vote.

Kryptonite: Oh dear!

Pet Peeve: Living in a way that attracts bugs! Eek!!!!! HATE that!

Anddddd DO NOT PING ME under ANY circumstances! Grrrr

Your USP: My passion for anything I get involved in. I think if you lack passion, you'll give only very little towards that cause, but when you're pumped about it, you'll give a 110%.

Log on to my blog if you: want to hear about make up, fantasies (not the kind you're thinking), maybe relationships, and all sorts of randomness.
