ASA EXCLUSIVE FROM FAB

Asa arrived to a warm welcome at BBC Club West One in London.

On Monday, Mr O. and I made our way to London Town for Asa's album showcase lunch. Club West One lounge was packed with press and record label reps by the time we got there a little after 1pm. Asa had got in from France for the day to play a handful of tracks to a keen audience.

While Beautiful Imperfection has been out in Nigeria for a while - long enough anyways for me to pick up a copy and rock it quite a number of times on my Mac and in the car - believe it or not, it's not dropping in the UK till April. Preposterous, I know!

After treating ourselves to standard British cuisine of bangers and mash and a glass of vino, we settled down for the amazing songstress to take centre stage. Asa was in a sleek black get up brightened up on a dreary England day with a dash of red in earrings, nail polish and understated court heels.

She kicked off the mini gig with the upbeat "Maybe"after which she played "Dreamer Girl"and "Baby Gone",  had a little chat with her cheery audience about the compact size of her tour bus compared to the size of the stage, and about a sweet valentine taking her to London but "not to that weather because I don't like it", soon after breaking into the first single from the album, "Be My Man."

At the end of the mini concert, we caught up with Asa for a little chat at which point she grabbed her copy of FAB and made sure it was safely tucked away from any potential 'mag thiefs' (Honestly, people, FAB has been stolen from readers before!).

Enjoy the video and the pics we snapped with the lovely Asa. And if you are based in the UK, make sure you book your ticket for Asa's gig at the Barbican on the 4 April.
